National Day of Service – Monday, January 19th

President-elect Barack Obama is calling for a National Day of Service on Monday, January 19th -- the Federal holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday and the day preceding Obama's Inauguration as President.

We encourage all of you to start this new era for our country off right. Check out the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service site to find a volunteer opportunity in your area or create one of your own. We hope this day of activism inspires you to carry out efforts in your communities and beyond throughout the new year.

The saying "be the change you want to see in the world" is one of the easiest "sayings" to apply to one's every day life - even if you think not enough people will do it to make a difference, that is no reason to give up (usually the case is simply because one is LAZY) on a wonderful way to live!

I just started learning about Gandhi and am becoming a follower of his (Is that possible? I just believe he got it all right and happen to agree with him on just about everything). Anyway, I actually have that quote on a necklace I wear to remind me daily of that!
