My favorite PJ album.
Not to be morbid or anything, but "Thumbing My Way" will be played at my funeral!.....it's such a good song! PJ really did help me through a life and death situation. I was in the downside (not that there is an upside) of heroine when this album came out. Now I'm happily married, and I'm expecting a daughter any day now!! In fact, this TC membership I'm on now is in her name, so that she is born into the fan club of the band that helped her existence!!.......now there is your "weirdo" for ya!!!
y would that make you a wierdo?
i hate to sound like one of those weirdo's that says "thanks for saving my life" because i wasn't in a life or death situation but my life definitely changed when i took the word's "no matter how cold the winter, there's a springtime ahead" to heart. it's so true. arc was never my favourite song to listen to until i saw eddie play in vancouver during the solo tour and he came out dressed in labcoat and started to create arc. so good.
this album as all pj albums rocks with tracks like lbc and i am mine one of my fave pearljam songs( i know that i was born and i know that ill die the in between is mine)great f*cking album period.
Ten was my first and I'll always cherish that time, but Riot Act is the album that presents PJ’s diversity and growth as a band, in my opinion. Can’t wait for the Ten reissue!
If they are going to re-release their entire catalog over the next 2 years like the "Ten" Reissue post suggests, I can't wait to hear this one! All of the studio stuff that is unreleased from these sessions has to be killer. Some of my favorite tracks are from this record; You Are, Save You, All or None, Thumbing My Way, Help Help, 1/2 Full, and LBC.
This album has never gotten it's due credit. I remember when it was released, I could tell it was another growing point for the band. We as fans need to grow with them, and give our band the respect they deserve for enduring so tenaciously. KEEP ON ROCKING!!!
As always,
Red Leppert
Hard to grasp, but once you've accepted it and learn to love it, it's a killer album. The songs are solid, and the lyrics on some songs are very well thoughtout and meaningful.
All Or None

Can't Keep
btw, Down shouldn't have been a B-SIDE!!!! ;)
It may not be as hit-friendly as TEN or VS but overall I think it is one of their best albums. It hase a coherent and nice sound that makes the entire album one experience and not just rock song after rock song (like Vitalogy for example).
So as an album I dig this one the most together with Binaural. Coherent albums.
many people say this album is their least favorit from the pJ catalogue.
Personally, I really love this album. It's getting bette and better every time I listen to it.
The album is in my top 3 of PJ albums (just after vitalogy and no code).
I went to two shows on two consecutive nights on this tour-Indy and then Columbus. At the Indy show (used to be Deer Creek), Eddie was busting the chops of the weak-ass people that were leaving the show early during "Yellow Ledbetter", which I thought was great. Both shows were magical-the soundtrack of my summer. Never forget it. Thanks, guys.
I was at the Indy show too. I couldn't believe they played sonic reducer that night! Best PJ show I have seen.
my most favorite album ever.
it should get more appreciation than it gets, it's definitely underrated. if i get to see all or none or love boat captain live i'll cry. :)
