I'm horrified to say this was my first PJ show, you would think that a lover of the band would have made it prior to this. But I suffered from a lack of funds in the early days of the band, damn I wish I would have donated plasma to get to Lollapalooza. Then there were the days of small venues and the Ticketmaster battle, it made it really tough to afford tickets for a slacker like me. I even damn near missed this show, with my wife saying she was too busy to go and me way out in Gilbert. I had resigned myself to missing the show and slipping into depression when we basically said screw it and went to the show. We walked in just as they were taking the stage, squeezed in next to the seats in the aisle and stayed right there the whole show. We were fortunate not to be kicked out of the aisle and soaked in the good vibes of our first show. I loved how we all yelled "Hello" back to the band on Elderly Woman... For all I know it was the first time it had happened, being my first show and all, but I'm sure it was a spontaneous event for several years prior.

This was my first show as well. I tried like hell dialing that phone number for tickets to the 1996 show at this same venue with no luck. I should have gone down there looking for a scalper. Although I should have seen the band much earlier being from the Seattle area myself, I thought this show was amazing and rekindled my love affair with the band. We stood up front, way up front right in front of Eddie. People were moshing but I wasn't interested in that at all. Each song was truly amazing that night and burned into my memory forever. When then next tour came through town I was a differnt person. I saw them in Phoenix drove to Las Vegas the next day and saw the 10th anniversary show. A short while later I flew to Seattle to see both tour ending shows at the Key Arena.
